She made each student a Lac La Hache library card to help make the experience of signing out a book like the real world. When students are doing research, she is helping them find books and websites to gather information from. <p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The Lac La Hache PAC has been a huge supporter of our school. The small amount of members has had a large impact. They have organized events to help build a strong sense of community like a weekly hot lunch for all students, a school carnival, and a school movie night. <p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The Lac La Hache Community Club has been a supporter of our school this year. This month, the club granted our school permission to use their fields for a South End Baseball Jamboree. Members of the club got the fields ready by mowing the grass, lining the fields, and filling in the ground squirrel holes. <p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Keeping children safe is a shared responsibility.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">This week, our students participated in the Safer Space workshop presented by Children of the Street, a provincial organization dedicated to preventing the sexual exploitation and human trafficking of children and youth in British Columbia.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Through engaging and age-appropriate activities, students learned how to recognize online risks, protect their privacy, and make safe choices when using apps, games, and social media. Most importantly, they were reminded that if something feels uncomfortable or unsafe, there are trusted adults and community supports ready to help.</span></p><p class="editor-paragraph"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">At École 100 Mile Elementary, we believe that raising safe, informed, and empowered children takes all of us working together—schools, families, and community partners. <p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">A past teacher and her mom visited our school to share and teach students about making bread. Each student got their own dough to split, roll, braid, and brush with an egg wash. <p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">The community has donated ice time at the local hockey rink and lent out skates so students at Lac La Hache Elementary are able to learn to skate. <p class="editor-paragraph" dir="ltr"><span style="white-space: pre-wrap;">Under the guidance of Jenny Howell from Water Wise, students from Lac La Hache school went down to the actual Lake and tested the water using 7 different measures.
